It’s officially my favorite season and I’m pretty hype about it! First of all, its the season when it stops feeling like 1 million and 10 degrees outside (although its still hot outside but not as hot) AND its the season with my birthday! I love Fall. I’m such a basic bitch to be honest so everything pumpkin spiced flavored or scented and I’m all over it! I can’t wait to bring out my UGGS and sweaters, I just need to weather to get to like the 60’s although weather that’s in the 70’s is my just right temperature (sorry to those that don’t live in Florida). Anyway, with seasonal changes sometimes can bring skin changes and I found some great products that I’m loving (and my skin) is loving as well!
Urban Skin Rx Even Tone Essentials Starter Kit
I heard a lot of good things about the Urban Skin Rx brand (in fact, this is the brand that sells the skin lightening pills I talked about in a previous post) and so I just felt like giving it a shot! It’s a brand specially formulated for ethnic skin but I’m sure any race or ethnicity can try this. I’ve heard nothing but great things about the cleansing bar so I decided to give this brand a shot. Besides, I felt like it was time to make a real investment in my skin care (although there’s nothing wrong with skin care products from Target or Walmart). In fact, I bought this product at Target! I saw that it was $39 on the website so I went to Target hoping for a better price, it was exactly the same price. So I bought it and when I got home…yall that “starter” kit was so small! I was initially upset. Its basically a travel size pack of the cleansing bar and dark spot correcting cream with the exception of the serum (which by the way smells like Vienna sausages…I kid you not).
Immediately after use, my skin felt so good. It was so soft and still is! My skin tone is becoming more even. The negatives that I’ve seen so far are the smell of the serum (seriously it stinks) and the dark spot corrector is really strong so if you have sensitive skin, I’d advise you to use it a few times a week. My skin is not all that sensitive but omg it stings sometimes. To counteract that, I’ve used my spraying mist toner and my AVON Green Goddess CBD face oil. It has helped so much. The cleansing bar can be used as a mask so I do that three days a week (all you do is leave the product on for three minutes then wipe it off). The cleansing bar came with two dry sponges that plumps when wet. So far, my skin has been responding positively to this brand! I def suggest everyone go give it a try?
Peach Slices Acne Spot Dots
I’ll be honest, I have oily/combination skin which is usually prone to acne but I barely get breakouts! However, when I do, I do all I can to get rid of it…stat! Thank goodness for these acne dots. I started breaking out because of wearing my mask all day. Like at first, I thought people were over exaggerating but nope! It’s actually a thing. So I was really excited when I received these babies in the mail. They’re about $5 and can be found at CVS. What’s great about these is that you can either wear them overnight or all day (you wear them for eight hours) which is super convenient because you’re wearing your mask all day anyway! Plus they’re clear!
The dots come in different sizes which is great because that means no matter the size of your pimple, you’ll have a dot to cover that sucker up! What’s the magic? The patches use hydrocolloid (cellulose gum) to actively absorb the breakout secretions which helps to shrink the size of the pimple. As I’ve mentioned before, these work. It won’t irritate your skin nor your pockets!
Chapstick Total Hydration Essential Oils Chill
Not gonna lie, my lips usually look crusty which ain’t cute. I try to have lip balm in my purse at all times because well I don’t want anyone to talk shit about my dry ass lips and our lips need hydration, especially as the weather changes from hot to cool/cold. This chapstick with CBD is truly one of a kind. It feels so good and makes my lips feel fantastic! It has CBD in it which I love (FYI: CBD and THC are not the same thing. Yes they both come from the Hemp plant but CBD does not contain drugs). Again, this product won’t break the bank (this little sucker will run you about $3) and it really works…like really really works. My lip are notoriously dry and so far I haven’t had any issues with this lip balm.
This lip balm is made with 100% natural ingredients and it’s infused with essential oils.
Bliss Clear Genius Clarifying Toner & Serum
I love the Bliss brand and this toner/serum is a new fave of mine from the brand. I usually use it in the morning after my micellar water and before my eye cream and moisturizer. I love the fact thats it’s a two and one product. It feels so good on my skin too! It’s like a cool gel and it feels so soothing to the skin. I was concerned with it also being a serum but it’s not drying at all (but then again I always make sure to use a moisturizer right afterwards). Again, this is a super affordable product (about $13) and can be found in Target and CVS. For someone with oily/combination skin, this does not dry out my skin which is super important.
